Cast in Other Movies/TV Shows

Post by BionicBunny on Thu 27 Mar 2014 - 21:51

This has come up in a few of the more recent hatbox sessions,so what can we dig up that the cast of ARTHUR starred in?
Michael Yarmush-Not much, except for a late 90s tween com called RADIO ACTIVE and voicing Martin Bonwick in the second and third seasons of WHAT'S WITH ANDY?,a Canadian cartoon.
Mark Rendall-Probably the best well known voice actor on the show,he's voiced Joe on TIME WARP TRIO,played somebody in THE NEVERENDING STORY,and was a vampire in 30 DAYS OF NIGHT.
Michael Caloz-Was in a lot of low budget late 80s/early 90s kid drama movies, like LITTLE MEN.
Jason Szwimer-His only other acting/voice acting credit appears to be as an elf in CAILLOU'S HOLIDAY MOVIE.
Additions are welcome!

Holly Frankel (Fern), a.k.a. Miss Sugarpuss, is a prolific burlesque dancer and overall mostly-naked lady these days.

Maggie Castle (Molly)
was in a lesbian scene in a movie called TODD AND THE BOOK OF PURE EVIL.

If that's not Molly, I don't know what is.

Holy crap... I saw that lesbian scene on YT a long time ago and didn't even realize it was her, but I got a serious boner watching that... and it's hard to tell, but if that's Maggie Castle in the black top, then... huuurrrrrr...

Hell, I'm diggin' them legs of hers in those black tights and dem boots! Is there a larger, higher quality of that shot available?

Since they both look so similar, it is tough distinguishing exactly which one is the true Castle.  Of course if you ask me, the more Molly the merrier!
I wasn't able to track down a larger/higher res version of the bottom one, unfortunately.  The only variation I came across is a transparent image here -

If you picture her with heavy bangs over her eyes and a bobbed hairdo, you can really see Molly's character in her mouth and lower face.

The closest thing I found was this:

I actually read an interesting interview with her regarding that Jenny Kolinksy of hers; apparently she didn't want to audition, because she often was sent to auditions for high school/teenage characters, only to be rejected for being "too old," but someone kept insisting she audition for TODD AND THE BOOK OF PURE EVIL... so, she went in intentionally with a bad attitude because she knew she was wasting both her and the producers' time... and as it turned out, her bad attitude is exactly what they were looking for for that character.

Very interesting.  I wouldn't be surprised if all those years of Molly rubbed off on her just a little bit, too...even if she's a fairly infrequent character.  But on a more visual note...wow.

Hmm? What was that? I'm sorry, I couldn't hear you, I was too busy burying my head in between dem leeeeegzzzz... Twisted Evil

On a side note, I honestly don't know who came up with the stigma/stereotype that all Canadian woman are fat and mean, because many Canadian women I've seen are hot, and I haven't known any of 'em to be mean.

Though I'm still a leg man, I found this rather interesting shot of the Castle, which apparently is from TODD AND THE BOOK OF PURE EVIL:

Some rather badass fairies, sharing voices with Francine, Fern, and Marina.

I can hear definitely make out Holly in there, especially when her character raises her voice for the attack around 1:07. You can hear the same high-pitched voice transition sometimes when Fern gets particularly excited.

And doesn't Jodie's voice sound more like Francine sounded in earlier seasons?

It's confusing, because this is apparently an Italian cartoon that has multiple different English dub versions, but I'm assuming one of those versions was dubbed up in Canada; I also noticed when reading up about it, there's a voice credit for a Sarah Camacho, which makes me wonder if she's of any relation to Mark Camacho (Oliver).

It does!  This clip makes me picture the three of them - Francine, Fern and Marina - sitting around in a circle playing with super-fairy dolls, and this being an imaginary spot where they all act out the roles of their respective action figures.

Gotta love her.   I wonder if she's anything like Molly in real life, too.  That would actually be a little scary...

I won't lie, I've done Google image searches before, just to see if I could possibly turn up anymore shots where we're treated to her gams... there's a few decent pics I've found...

There's a movie she appears in (can't remember what it is) where she has a scene where she's only in a bra and panties. cyclops

Right now, she only reinforces my opinion that Canadian women kick ass!

Has anyone ever seen JANE AND THE DRAGON? Arthur #3, Mark Rendall, voices a character on this show, a jester to be exact.

I've glanced at this show a few times in the past, it seems pretty interesting; I know it's based on a book, that I haven't read.

Here's a rather bizarre little CGI movie called PINOCCHIO 3000k, which apparently is a retelling of the classic tale of Pinocchio set in the future, where instead of a marionette, he's a robot, voiced by everybody's favorite aardvark momma!

Here's a clip from the movie I found on YT; in addition to Sonja Ball using her Wimzie voice, according to IMDb Helena Evangeliou (the girl in the clip) and Ellen David also provide voices in the movie.

On an unrelated note, Whoopi Goldberg is the Fairy Godmother expy in the movie . . . remember when she used to be a big A-list celebrity back in the 90s?

And here's Melissa Altro voicing Pippi Longstocking:
