Arthur and the Haunted Treehouse Honored with the "Common Sense Seal"

Post by CMSAB11 on Sun May 20, 2018 12:19 pm

so i recently came across this on the arthur twitter...

"The Common Sense Seal recognizes movies and TV series/specials that offer families an exceptional media experience. Our honorees have the potential to spark family conversations, entertain families of all types, and/or make a significant, lasting impact on individuals within a family or on the culture as a whole."

i'm glad arthur is still being recognized, even if it's in minor ways like this.

While it is a slightly depressing experience watching 'Haunted Treehouse' receive an award commemorating it as an 'exceptional media experience' against classic (and superior-quality) installments such as 'Arthur's Perfect Christmas', at least I admit feeling a little proud that the show continues to fail to fade into obscurity (despite the fairly shoddy scheduling that PBS has saddled it with as of late).

exactly, i agree. there's absolutely no comparison between haunted treehouse and apc. i'm just so glad arthur continues to be relevant. i think all the memes help somewhat too.

You are definitely right about the continued relevance of the show. It's the small things in life that we must revel in. For example, tiny dabs of suntan lotion. My life would never be the same without them for sure.

I certainly hope the memes aid in this. I mean, otherwise, that would be untrue, and is that what people really do? Just go on the internet and tell lies?

And I told them not to touch it in the first place. Ah well. Maybe a 100L dosage of potion will enlighten them.

I agree, it certainly was not anything spectacular like Arthur's Perfect Christmas, but I'm glad to see the recognition.

Just the other day, I was thinking about the Halloween special and kind of wanted to watch it again. It's not terrible by any means, and just considering that I had a random urge to want to watch tells me it has some value to it lol...Not every episode leaves me with a desire to watch again. Maybe since PBS only airs in October, it won't get overplayed and burned out like some current episodes.

i feel the same way about the halloween special, it was much better than d.w. and the beastly birthday at least.
