Aww, "Arthur and D.W. Clean Up"'s one of my faves. Razz

Season 1: None that I can think of.
Season 2: N/A
Season 3: "Arthur Goes Crosswire / Sue Ellen and the Brainasaurous" (I wouldn't say it's bad, just kind of meh)
Season 4: None
Season 5: The whole season
Season 6: The whole season
Season 7: "The Great Sock Mystery"
Season 8: "Postcards from Buster" tied with "Flea to be You and Me"
Season 9: The whole season
Season 10: The whole season
Season 11: The whole season
Season 12: The whole season
Season 13: The whole season
Season 14: The whole season
Season 15: The whole season
Season 16: "Baby Steps" tied with "So Funny I Forgot to Laugh"
Season 17: "Show Off / Dog's Best Friend" tied with "Pets and Pests"
Season 18: So far "Surprise!"

Re: Name the Worst Episode of Every Season

Season 1: Tough one. I'm going to have to go with "Sick as a Dog" because it's one episode I never had interest in when it was on.
Season 2: "Go to Your Room, D.W." - another meh-worthy episode that I never really was in a rush to re-watch.
Season 3: "Arthur Goes Crosswire" - mostly for completely reversing Muffy's character development in Season 2 and portraying her as an outsider who never hangs out with the core group.
Season 4: "Buster's Breathless" - the first of the childhood-illness-of-the-year episodes that the show is now (in)famous for. Even the double-entendre "Because I showed Buster those dirty books!" line doesn't save it.
Season 5: "Just Desserts" - for being a near ripoff of the Rocko's Modern Life episode "Yarnbenders", where Filburt gets sick and gets told a fairytale mashup of Hansel and Gretel and Jack and the Beanstalk.
Season 6: "More!" - D.W. being a huge brat, and not in the funny way.
Season 7: "The Great Sock Mystery" - talking-baby-and-pet episode. Every one of them with the exception of "The Secret Life…" automatically gets a big, fat Roabe Seal of Disapproval.
Season 8: "Flea to Be You and Me" - talking-baby-and-pet episode.
Season 9: "It Came From Beyond" - boo.
Season 10: "Buster's Special Delivery" - again, pretty meh-worthy and actually kind of pointless.
Season 11: "Baby Kate and the Imaginary Mystery" - eew.
Season 12: "Mei Lin Takes a Stand" - gross.
Season 13: "Paradise Lost" - nooo.
Season 14: "In My Africa" - terrible songs, and it seemed like this was supposed to be a backdoor pilot, as if they were trying to pitch a new show about Africa or something.
Season 15: "Fifteen" - a potential milestone episode that had to go and get itself ruined by talking babies and pets.
Season 16: "Baby Steps" - Go away.
Season 17: "Show Off" - I'm warning you!
Season 18: "Surprise!" - AMENDED: Now that I've seen the rest of Season 18, I now choose "Best Wishes" as the worst of that season.

"In My Africa" has often been panned as a Poorly Disguised Pilot for a potential D.W.-Cheike spinoff that thankfully went nowhere, but not only that, it's often been panned as the worst episode of the entire series. I watched it only once, and I felt like I wasn't even watching an episode of ARTHUR, I almost felt like I was watching a non-entertaining, instructional/informational video that just happened to have D.W. and Brain thrown in to introduce Cheike, his family, and the continent of Africa. Anytime I see Cheike or his parents as extras in episodes that take place at preschool, I often ask myself why are they still here? Then again, I sometimes ask the same question regarding Carl as well, and I know a lot of people are asking this about the Compsons.

I also agree that if each episode of ARTHUR was a colorful Woogle, any of the talking babies/talking pets episodes are cheap Poogles. Razz

My only disagreement would be "Go to Your Room, D.W.," that one cracks me up, if only for the highly exaggerated Imagine Spots (the TAXI reference was a plus as well).

I really liked the portion of Fifteen that focused on George being a contestant on Slumdog Millionaire (we all know it's true). The Kate-and-Pal parts were really bizarre and seemed out-of-place.

I'm also going to add that while looking in retrospect, "Buster's Breathless" does come across as the first in a long line of Once A Season childhood illness episodes. I'm not going to say it's bad persay - I have asthma too, not as bad as when I was a kid though - but it does seem like it may have been exaggerated slightly. I'd also like to point out something from "April 9th:" Mr. Morris (who turns out to have asthma too) compliments Buster on the color he chose for his inhaler... you don't get to choose what color your inhaler is, the colors are based on the individual prescription... yeah, based on his severe your breathing problems are, there are different prescriptions for inhalers; my dad has mild emphesema from years of smoking, and has red inhalers for it; meanwhile, many of my inhalers growing up were just plain white.

I digress, it seems to me that a lot of the Disease of the Week episodes are quite exaggerated in a sense. Like "Binky Goes Nuts," he manages to find a Chinese restaurant that specifically serves people with peanut allergies... are there really such restaurants that cater specifically to people with a certain food allergy? I mean I'm just now hearing about how people are working to make restaurants for people intolerant to gluten reality.

Really? The colors are chosen based on severity? I always had red inhalers for my childhood asthma/reactive airway disease, and it was very well controlled, I never had an attack.

Season 1: Arthur Babysits.  I never was much of a Tibble fan.
Season 2: Sue Ellen's Little Sister.  Not much for Sue Ellen, either.
Season 3: Double Tibble Trouble.
Season 4: The Fright Stuff.  Something about this being an actual ghost story felt hokey, and out-of-place for the show.
Season 5: The Big Dig.  Just plain boring.
Season 6: The Secret Life of Dogs and Babies.  I'm officially citing Roabe's list on the whole Kate/Pal thing.
Season 7: The Great Sock Mystery.  See above.
Season 8: Flea to be You and Me.  See above, only now with a talking one-shot insect?
Season 9: It Came From Beyond. See above.
Season 10: Curse of the Grebes.  Not much for sports-related episodes, either.
Season 11: Baby Kate and the Imaginary Mystery.
Season 12: Mei-Lin Takes a Stand.  Mei-Lin - making the Kate/Pal situation worse.
Season 13: Portrait of the Artist as a Young Tibble.
Season 14: The Great Lint Rush.  Amigo - making the Kate/Pal situation even worse.
Season 15: Whistling in the Wind.
Season 16: Baby Steps.
Season 17: Molina's Mulligan.  Come back, Mr. Sipple!  Please...come...back...
Season 18: Best Wishes.  Too much of a Lucky Pencil re-hash.

Season 1: Arthur the Wrecker. Arthur should pay the computer after he breaks it.
Season 2: Draw! Can't have a fat character in the series.
Season 3: Background Blues. Can't show a title card during an episode.
Season 4: Arthur's Big Hit. Arthur, you should be suspended from PBS for a month.
Season 5: Nerves of Steal. Arthur was the victim who steals the toy.
Season 6: None.
Season 7: Ants in Arthur's Pants. There's no ants in Arthur's pants.
Season 8: Fernfern and the Secret Moose Mountain and Thanks a Lot, Binky. An Arthur-less episode.
Season 9: Arthur Makes Waves. Arthur doesn't know how to make waves.
Season 10: Happy Anniversary. Arthur and D.W. was going to be trapped for the rest of the episode.
Season 11: Big Brother Binky. Binky has no big brother.
Season 12: The Blackout. Elwood City was going to have no power for the rest of the episode.
Season 13: No Acting, Please. I thought it was going to be a family matter episode.
Season 14: The Buster Report. Brain, don't be very rude to Buster.
Season 15: Fifteen. George was going to make an incorrect answer.
Season 16: So Funny I Forgot to Laugh. Arthur, you should be suspended from PBS for a month.
Season 17: Go Fly a Kite. Ladonna, don't fight for a kite with Muffy and Binky.
Season 18: None yet.

Sparkling insights, truly.  Seriously, how dare they deceive us like that?  No waves, no family, no pants-ants...no wonder some folks think the show hit a low point around the middle of its run.  No

Binky Bump!

1. Arthur Cleans Up. It's not an awful episode, but it's nowhere near as good as the other eco episode with Francine's dad.

2. Sue Ellen's Little Sister. If I had a dime for every character who was OOC, I'd have 5 dollars.

3. Francine And The Feline. It's OK on its own, but every other episode with Nemo puts him in a villainous light - it takes away from the episode's very point. Plus Nemo looks weird, not like his finalized self.

4. Arthur's Big Hit. No explanation for this one!

5. The Last Of Mary Moo Cow. Just... eugh.

I trust no one will mind me "bumping" the thread, correct?
S1: I'd have to say "D.W. All Wet". D.W. really got under my skin in this one.
S2:Hmmm....."Arthur and the Square Dance", but only because of the Buster continuity error:In the previous episode, Buster had left with his dad, but now he's all of a sudden back in Elwood? Yet he's not supposed to be back until Season 3? I don't get it.
S3:"Buster's Back." The Ballad of Buster Baxter was the superior story and Buster's Back really should have been condensed into TBoBB and be made a 22 minute episode.
S4:"Arthur's Big Hit".We all know why.
S5:"The Shore Thing".It seemed like the show was going out of its way to be educational this episode, but it doesn't work and it shows, because it was so blatant. Later educational episodes corrected this by becoming more subtle.
S6:"More!" D.W. was way too bratty in this episode.
S7:"Return of the Snowball". Bad plot twist to an episode which was thought to resolve the "D.W.'s snowball" plot that had been running since Season 1.
S8:"Flea to Be You and Me", or, when the talking Kate and Pal episodes started to go bad.
S9:"Binky Goes Nuts". Blatantly educational, see above.
S10:"World Girls". The whole plot seemed out of place for the show.
S11:"Baby Kate and the Imaginary Mystery". Some mystery. *eyeroll*
S12:"Room to Ride".Nothing more than a Lance Armstrong guest spot tool. Not much plot, either.
S13:"The Secret Origin of Supernova".Seems like a pointless episode for kids who aren't big on comics. And the "selling Out" message was sickeningly blatant, as well.
S14:"Around the World in 11 Minutes".Need I say more?
S15:"Fifteen."The plot was all over the place, and the Kate and Pal subplot was also very unnecessary.
S16:"Baby Steps".Kind of a rehash of "Paradise Lost", it would have been better if they had taken that episode's plot further.
S17:"Adventures in Budylon".I really couldn't tell if this episode was supposed to get kids outdoors or just a pointless episode.
S18:"Best Wishes",too many cliches from other kids shows used.
