Great character caps!  I especially like her zen pose halfway down.
Gotta love those doggybuns.

I'm surprised the artists didn't draw her with a clearly defined butt, leotards are form-fitting, after all. Wink

Some things are just better drawn by hand rather than computers. Wink

And in Marina's case, even though she looks snazzy in her leotard, somehow her general overall cuteness just doesn't really translate well in 9 Story's Flash animation as opposed to the previous seasons.

But I digress; sure, they may have made her butt a little flat, but least she still got legs and she knows how to use them.

It's quirky, but I also find the back of her head adorable in the single third-row shot.  I normally have a strong preference for brunettes, but that sort of bobbed haircut really works well on sandy blondes.  The bunny ears are a big plus too, of course.

The mousy bob look is a nice compliment to her overall bookworm/schoolgirl design.

I've been thinking, though... all this talk about her cuteness being enough to attract guys who would only be interested in her for quick flings and such... I'd actually like to see an episode like that. Not exactly like that, but an episode where perhaps a boy develops a crush on her, but finds out she's blind, and is unsure how to deal with the situation... in the end though, I think Marina should be the one who puts a stop to it before anything really takes off, not necessarily because thinks nobody would want to be involved with a blind girl, but because she's simply not interested since Prunella is her one true love.

"The Tardy Tumbler" was on again today, and I think the next great thing about this episode aside from getting see Marina being all smexy in a leotard is the scenario with Marina's mom having car trouble...

"Bellow has never been late! Some crazy lady had car trouble, and..."

That, and... "Yoga Girl, why you in my class wearink pajamas?!"

This may be wishful thinking, but with Bellow making Prunella Marina's coach, that'd be a good opportunity for another gymnastics episode.

There was just a certain something about Tardy Tumbler that had that "Early Golden Age" feel to it.  That was one nasty catfight they had in the car, too.  Very believable, though.

Yeah, and before that also showed how Marina really does have a rather difficult streak at times: "It's okay. We all make mistakes. (Beat) Once." Ouch. That was a little uncalled for. Other than setting up the plot, why would they be holding gymnastics classes before school anyway? I don't blame Prunella for being a zombie that early.

The morning gym schedule reminded me of military training.  Up at 4:30 A.M., work out and run your legs off for an hour, then enjoy maybe 10-15 minutes of breakfast.  The gym practice here may not have been as loud and in-your-face, but it taking place so early added an additional layer of strictness to the whole situation.  I wonder if it was deliberately scheduled that way to underscore how hard-line the instructor was.

Thanks or the new screencap, too - She looks even lovelier in pink.  albino

This may sound mean, but somehow the pink and gray clothing combo almost seems to emphasize Marina is blind. ><

More great Marina shots - too bad she'll never be able to see just how nicely these pictures all turned out.  Crying or Very sad   I especially like the bottom center "what?" look.  She almost looks like Maria given the length of her face, there.  Also, is it just me, or is a certain someone getting just a wee bit touchy-feely on the top right?  Laughing

Surely her mom lets her know these things... a lot of moms (no, not you) are kinda like that, even if they have a child with like one eye, half a nose, assymetrical ear holes, they still think they have the best-looking kid on the planet.

Now that I think of it, is Marina's mom a single parent? I've never seen her dad, but that doesn't mean he doesn't exist; for years, I assumed Fern's mom was a single mother, but apparently her dad popped up once...

Now that you mention it, I've never seen or heard mention of her father, either.  I assume that he's either always at work when we see Marina depicted at home, or that it is, in fact, a single-parent household.  Perhaps we'll find out sometime in the near future.

Just a couple'a more examples of Marina cuteness.

And I would just like to say, I did a split like that once... completely unintentionally... it hurt like hell...

Both amusing shots.  The first one because, well...this: http://content.time.com/time/specials/packages/article/0,28804,1927306_1927313_1927329,00.html

The second one because of the somewhat interesting "ho-hum" shape and expression her face seems to have adopted for the moment.  You'd think she might at least wince a little in a situation like that.

Well, I guess since she says she's taken gymnastics classes since she was little, I guess she's learned flexibility and how not to hurt herself, lol.

But I've recently picked up on a little tic that she seems to have: anytime Prunella says something odd, unusual, or some kind of a non-sequitor, she has this little mad face for a brief moment:

She almost looks insulted for some reason.

That just makes her all the more adorable.  I think the slight intolerance/contempt it conveys reflects her somewhat sheltered life and resulting lack of interpersonal experience.

I just remembered, Buffster gave Arffer that same face once when simply asking what he was doing.

And of course, Dwonky Little Sister also gave Arthuza the same look when he brought Mr. Haney's envelope home.

Funny seeing Buster acting so intolerant like that, and over such a little thing...since he's usually Mr. Easygoing.

Yay, another airing of "Tardy Tumbler" today... I swear, I never get tired of looking at Marina in her leotard... I love you

Uhh... why does Prunella suddenly look so evil...?

Thankfully, I have the episode recorded.  I'm inspired to watch it again, tonight.  Cool
I think the evil spirits she's been communing with for the past 18 years have finally caught up with poor Prunie.  If her head starts spinning and spewing pea soup, we'll know it's time to call in a specialist.
